The Arab-British Chamber Charitable Foundation
The Arab-British Chamber Charitable Foundation is set up for the advancement of science and education in Arab countries. It aims to assist in the postgraduate education of those Arab nationals in financial need who have chosen to study subjects of relevance and potential practical value to the student's home country and who are committed, upon conclusion of their studies, to return to their home country, or to another Arab state, in order to pass on the expertise acquired during their education.
Rules of Eligibility
The Foundation’s basic criteria for the consideration of requests from applicants seeking funding support for their studies are as follows:
The Trustees are unable to consider requests from UK residents, refugees, asylum seekers or others who are not committed to settling in the Arab world.
For further information, please contact:
Arab nationals in financial need who are under 40 years of age who hold citizenship of a member state of the Arab League, who come to the UK temporarily for the sole purpose of undertaking university studies as an overseas student and who are committed to returning home to a country in the Arab world upon completion of their study programme.
Studies at the postgraduate level only at a UK university leading to a postgraduate degree qualification such as a Masters, MPhil or PhD.
Preference is given to applicants who have chosen to study subjects of potential practical value to the student's home country
These are partial funding grants that are intended for postgraduate students whose own available funds fall short of their total requirements and who need additional contributions to cover the balance of their fees, living expenses and related study costs. As the level of assistance is only a small proportion of the student's full costs, the applicant has to prove that the majority of total funding has been, or will be, secured from other sources.
