ABCC hosts Tunisia Business Reception

The Arab-British Chamber of Commerce hosted a reception to highlight the advantages of doing business with Tunisia on the evening of 25th March.

Dr Afnan Al Shuaiby, ABCC Secretary General & CEO, warmly welcomed Her Excellency Mrs Hamida Mrabet Labidi, the Tunisian Ambassador to the UK and Mr Abdellatif Hamam, the CEO of the Tunisian Export Promotion Centre.

Other distinguished guests at the event included H E Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa, the Bahrain Ambassador to the UK and H E Abdulrahman Ghanem Almutaiwee, the UAE Ambassador to the UK.

In her opening remarks, Dr Afnan Al Shuaiby stressed that the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce was pleased to work in close partnership with Tunisia in order to promote investment opportunities in the country and said that the chamber was always ready to assist companies seeking to enter the market.

“Tunisia continues to be highly profitable destination for foreign investment and is today a very exciting and attractive place to do business,” Dr Afnan Al Shuaiby told the British business and finance executives who were present at the well attended reception.

For his part, Mr Abdellatif Hamam said that Tunisia was open to foreign participation and its dynamic and innovative economy offered considerable potential for investors.

The reception highlighted some of the key growth sectors in Tunisia of most interest to UK investors such as energy, financial services, healthcare, ICT, education and training, construction and advanced engineering, textiles and leather, mechanical and electrical equipment, food processing and chemicals.

H E Mrs Hamida Mrabet Labidi thanked the Chamber for all its support in helping improve Tunisian-British cooperation in the fields of trade and investment.
