Secretary General & CEO attends conference of General Union of Arab Chambers

Dr Afnan Al Shuaiby, Secretary General & CEO of the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce, attended the general conference of the General Union of Arab Chambers (GUCCIAAC) which took place in Cairo on 29-30 April.

The event provided an opportunity to meet the Secretary Generals and Chief Executives of most of the joint chambers around the world. Discussions included issues such as the development of new services, ways to enhance joint chamber activities, and how to improve communications between the chambers.
While in Cairo, Dr Al Shuaiby met with H E Amr Moussa, Secretary General of the League of Arab States. During their discussion, Dr Al Shuaiby highlighted the ABCC’s role in promoting UK-Arab trade and the forthcoming Arab-British Economic Forum (ABEF). A formal invitation was extended to Dr Moussa to address the event.
The Secretary General & CEO also held a meeting in Cairo with Egyptian Minister of Commerce Mr Rashid Mohammad Rashid during which Egyptian-UK trade relations were discussed.
