Delegation to Oman, Qatar, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia

A-BCC Secretary General & CEO Dr Afnan Al Shuaiby leads delegation to Oman, Qatar, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia

A delegation from the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce headed by A-BCC Secretary General & CEO, Dr Afnan Al Shuaiby, has visited the Gulf for meetings with top government officials and business representatives in Oman, Qatar, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
Oman was the first leg on the tour and was the occasion for the A-BCC Executive Committee meeting on 17 February. The delegation and Executive Committee headed by Chairman Sir Roger Tomkys, was received by Oman Minister of Commerce & Industry, H E Maqboul bin Al bin Sultan.
Abdeslam El Idrissi, Director of Trade Services and Omar Al Kurdi, PR & Events, were also part of the delegation touring the Gulf States to discuss participation in the A-BCC’s planned Economic Forum to be held in November.
A meeting was held with the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
On 18 February a series of meetings were held with H H Sayyid Faisal bin Turki Al Said, CEO of the Oman Brand Management Unit; H E Nasir Alasmaily, CEO of the Omani Centre for Investment Promotion & Export (OCIPED); the Oman Minister of Manpower, H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser al Bakri; and H E Hamood Bin Sangour Al-Zadjali, Governor of the Central Bank of Oman. The A-BCC delegation was also received by the British Ambassador to Oman at his official residence.
In Qatar, Dr Afnan, Mr El Idrissi and Mr Al Kurdi held meetings with Sheikh Hamad Bin Jabor Al-Thani, Secretary General for the General Secretariat for Development and Planning, H E Minister of Finance Youssef Kamal, Deputy PM and Minister of Energy and Industry H E Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Attiyah and Qatar Minister of Trade and Business Sheikh Fahad bin Jassin bin Mohammed Al Thani. A meeting was also held with Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani, Chairman of the Qatari Business Men’s Association.
In Bahrain, meetings were held with Abdulrahim Hasan Naqi, Secretary General of the FGCCC Chambers and Dr Essam Fakhro, President of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Mr Yousif Almadi, Deputy CEO.
Finally, in Saudi Arabia, the A-BCC delegation held meetings with H E Khalid A Al-Falih, President and CEO Saudi Aramco and H E Abdullatif A Al-Othman, Senior Vice President, Finance, Saudi Aramco.
A further meeting in Saudi Arabia was held with H E Secretary General of the Eastern Province Bliss Adnan bin Abdullah followed by a meeting with Saudi businessmen.
The A-BCC is to visit other Arab states in coming weeks.
