Dr Elias Ghantous
Dr. Ghantous is presently the Secretary General of the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture for Arab Countries.
- He has been involved for more than four decades in Arab regional economic cooperation and integration.
- He has made substantial contributions towards the promotion of private sector activity and enhancing its role in privatization and development.
- During 1975-1985 he was a Lecturer in Economics at the American University of Beirut, and has frequently contributed articles and conference papers on Economic Regionalism and International Co-operation.
- He published a number of books and articles, and holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Durham University, United Kingdom.
