Mr Simon Bird
Simon Bird was born and educated in England.After completing full-time education, he joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London, where he served for 3 years, prior to joining the Royal Navy, where he served a short service commission in the Fleet Air Arm.
Following his naval service, Simon entered the UK Defence industry, joining British Aerospace plc, where he held a number of senior roles in the UK and overseas; including responsibility for the Al Yamamah Economic Offset programme in Saudi Arabia.
Simon is currently the Chief Executive of one of the largest privately owned port groups in the UK, headquartered in Bristol, a role he has held for 6 years.
He joined the Board of the Arab British Chamber in 1995 and serves in an advisory capacity on a number of regional committees and boards.
