Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammad Al-Thani, born in 18 February 1959 in Doha, State of Qatar. He underwent his schooling in Doha and after he went to the United States for higher studies. He graduated in 1981 from Portland State University with a B.Sc in Economics & Political Science.
After his return from the United States, he joined at the Ameri Diwan as the Head of Political Department until mid 1987. In 1987 he was appointed as The Director General of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce and he worked until 1993. He led many Trade Delegations during his tenure with Ministry of Economy & Commerce. In 1993, he requested voluntary retirement and since 1993 has not held any official positions wiyh any Governmental Organisations.
Sheikh Khalifa started his family business and he is a well-known businessman and a prominent member of the Ruling Family in the State of Qatar. He is the owner of KJM Contracting & Trading Aluglass, Mideast Data Systems and UPS (Franchise).He focused his business in the lines of Real Estate, Oil & Gas Industry, Communication, Medical, Fire and Safety Systems etc. mainly from United States and European Countries. He is the Board member of Doha Insurance Company.
Currently, he is the Chairman of Qatar Chamber of Commerce & Industry Board of Directors since May 16th, 2006.
