Purpose of the Charitable Foundation
Established in 1980, the Foundation was set up for the advancement of science and education in Great Britain and the Arab states, for needy young people and adults studying subjects of relevance to the Arab states, and for any other charitable purposes for the benefit of the community.
The Trustees give priority to the higher education of Arab nationals in financial need, to assist them to undertake postgraduate study and research programmes.
Preference is given to applicants who have chosen to study subjects of potential practical value to the student's home country and who intend, on the conclusion of their studies, to return home or to another Arab state, in order to pass on the expertise acquired during their studies.
