Arab British Beginners Languages Courses

The Beginners' course concentrates on the spoken language, although there are also introductions to the written language and elementary grammar. It is a foundation course, giving the grounding needed for further study.

This course aims to leave the student with the ability to read and write comfortably in Arabic. Lesson periods are generally divided in half, with the first hour spent on conversation, and the second hour on written work. Arabic grammar is introduced to the student in a careful manner, designed to assure understanding as well as retention.

Substantial use is made of visual and audio teaching aids, such as Volume 1 of, Al-Kitab Al-Assasi literally 'The Basic Book', a language-training textbook approved by the Arab League, with its accompanying cassette tapes. Students will also use Arabic for English Speaking Students, by Dr. Muhammad Abdul-Rauf - a recent publication by Al-Saadawi Books.

Student assignments are set after every lesson, and students are awarded a certificate by the Chamber on successful completion of the course.

We realise that not everyone can attend our courses during weekday working hours. Our course schedules are, therefore, designed to be as flexible as possible.
