Courses for Hospital Staff
Knowing a few words of Arabic can make a vast difference when treating an Arab patient. It can help to reassure, and create a more familiar environment conducive to recovery when people are at their most vulnerable. In the past, the Chamber has organised language courses for the Hammersmith and Royal Free Hospitals, as well as staff from the North London Nuffield Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital and the Cromwell Hospital.
These courses can be taught at the Chamber, or possibly at your location. They are by nature tailor-made and will be prefaced by a discussion to determine any medical terminology particular to your specialisation, and any other requirements you may need addressed. Suitable students may include Staff Nurses, Nurses and Porters, and a certificate is presented to candidates upon successful completion of the course.
To ensure efficiency, we do require a minimum of three and a maximum of six students for these courses. For further information please contact the Chamber.
English courses for Arab students or potential students at UK Universities
These courses assist Arab students coming to study for a degree at UK universities. Whatever standard you may be, the Chamber will take you step-by-step to the level of English suitable for your needs, and will leave you competent enough to cope with the rigours of a UK university education.

Arabic Educational Classes for Young People
These classes provide an important means by which the children of Arab visitors or residents maintain contact with their mother tongue and culture. Courses on offer range from elementary level to GCSE and 'A' Level. Ages taught range from 5 to 16 years. For further information please contact the Chamber.
Arabic Proof Reading and Language Advice
Much of this work is undertaken in support of the technical Translation Department, although the Language Unit can take on commissions which only need to be proofed. Both of our proof readers are highly experienced, and are excellent linguists. We are happy to offer quotations before undertaking work. For further information please contact the Chamber.
In-house Language Training
If you would like members of your company to be trained in Arabic at your location, the Chamber can accommodate your needs subject to negotiation.
