Also participating were senior staff members involved in the provision of a range of services that the Chamber provides to the Arab and UK business communities who make up its membership base. The Chamber was not just concerned with the stamping of export documents, it was stressed, although this remains one of its important functions...

The main export opportunities in Qatar in the areas of oil and natural gas were highlighted to an audience of UK investors and SMEs at the seminar; including the $3.5 billion Dolphin project, the first cross-border gas pipeline in the Gulf Arab region due to begin supplying the UAE with gas this year. It will also begin supplying neighbouring Oman in 2008.

A Report on Iraqi Ministerial Delegation visiting the Chamber

A delegation of Iraqi government officials headed by H E Fawzi Hariri, the country’s Minister for Industry and Minerals, visited the Chamber for a business reception and networking event in January to which selected companies interested in investing in Iraq’s ongoing reconstruction were invited.
A-BCC Chairman Sir Roger Tomkys welcomed the visitors on behalf of the Chamber and on behalf of Acting Secretary General George Asseily, who was also present at the reception.
