Saudi Documentation Requirements

Document Requirements and Legislation Fees as levied by the Embassy.

Stream I - (Documents to be solely certified by the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce, after which the exporter is responsible for arrangements to have the documents legalised by the relevant Embassy.)

    • Certificate of Origin and Invoice

Stream II - (Documents to be certified by the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce and then sent by the A-BCC to the relevant Embassy for legalisation. After certification and legalisation have been completed the exporter may pick up his documents directly from the Chamber's premises or can arrange to have them sent from A-BCC by post or courier directly to his offices.)

    • Certificate of Origin and Invoice

Special Requirements

  1. The Saudi Ministry of Commerce (MoC), in co-operation with the Saudi Arabian Standards Organisation (SASO) implements a programme to control the quality of certain regulated products imported into the Kingdom. To ensure compliance with these standards, exporters are advised to obtain a SASO Certificate of Conformity prior to shipment of their goods to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
  2. The programme consists of two related but separate processes:
  3. THE SCCP LISTING This applies to manufacturers wishing to apply to register their products under the SCCP licensing and listing. Listed products will be given special consideration during pre-shipment inspection, minimising the need for testing and stream-lining customs clearance procedures.
  4. THE SASO CERTIFICATE OF CONFORMITY Prior to shipment, exporters of regulated products to KSA may obtain a Certificate of Conformity. Depending on the accreditation or quality marks already held, the products may be tested to varying levels. If the shipment is found to meet SASO requirements, a SASO Certificate of Conformity will be issued. This certificate will accompany the consignment to clear the goods through customs in KSA.
