Export Services and Documents

Our Export Documentation services are an important asset for companies engaged in Arab-British trade. It is vital to fulfil all the documentation requirements accurately. Any errors can lead to costly delays in getting paid and in the clearing of goods, and can even mean non-payment. You can avoid all this by using our service.

Member governments of the League of Arab States entrust the Chamber with the task of standardising and co-ordinating the preparation and submission of commercial documents, for the export of goods from the UK to their countries.

The Chamber uses a unique, bilingual (English/Arabic) Certificate of Origin which conforms to international regulations and is accepted by all governments. Swift processing of documentation is ensured by the Chamber's nationwide network consisting of Agent Chambers who verify documents prior to submission to the ABCC for certification. The Chamber's close links with the Arab Embassies in London also facilitates prompt processing of your documentation. If requested, we are able to facilitate legalisation of commercial documents by consular sections of the Arab Embassies.

Saudi Documentation Requirements

Document Requirements and Legislation Fees as levied by the Embassy.

Stream I - (Documents to be solely certified by the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce, after which the exporter is responsible for arrangements to have the documents legalised by the relevant Embassy.)

o    Certificate of Origin and Invoice

After certification and legalisation have been completed the exporter may pick up his documents directly from the Chamber's premises or can arrange to have them sent from A-BCC by post or courier directly to his offices.)

o    Certificate of Origin and Invoice

Special Requirements

(1) The Saudi Ministry of Commerce (MoC), in co-operation with the Saudi Arabian Standards Organisation (SASO) implements a program to control the quality of certain regulated products imported into the Kingdom. To ensure compliance with these standards, exporters are advised to obtain a SASO Certificate of Conformity prior to shipment of their goods to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

(2) All Legal documents require Foreign and Commonwealth Office. i.e. Agency Agreement, Power of Attorney, Memorandum and Article of Association, Board of Directors Meeting, Minutes of Meeting.

(3) The program consists of two related but separate processes:

  • THE SCCP LISTING: This applies to manufacturers wishing to apply to register their products under the SCCP licensing and listing. Listed products will be given special consideration during pre-shipment inspection, minimizing the need for testing and stream-lining customs clearance procedures.
  • THE SASO CERTIFICATE OF CONFORMITY Prior to shipment, exporters of regulated products to KSA may obtain a Certificate of Conformity. Depending on the accreditation or quality marks already held, the products may be tested to varying levels. If the shipment is found to meet SASO requirements, a SASO Certificate of Conformity will be issued. This certificate will accompany the consignment to clear the goods through customs in KSA. All exports of live bees (Bee Queens & Package bees) to Saudi Arabia must now be accompanied by Veterinary Health Certificate (see attachment no. C782 for application form).

(4) For more detailed information on procedures, please contact the Program's Manager in the UK at the following address:

Invoice copy leg fees

The new formula for invoices above the maximum value of sterling (250,000) will be calculated as follows:

Value of invoice x 8 (fixed sterling rate) x 0.2% = total value then divided by 4.16666 = the result will be kept as it is (not to be rounded up).

The same formula applies to the Dollar, at the fixed rate of 4. And the Euro, fixed rate of 6.

If invoice is in UAE Durham then you divide the Durhams by 8 to get the value in Sterling, then you use the chart.

Invoice Value with UAE Dirham fixed conversion: (please see formula below)
